Arsenal Football Academy is a non-residential football training programme for elite youth players between the ages of 9 to 16, based at Hale End (E17).
The aim of Arsenal Football Academy is to centre each boy's progression as a footballer by providing a world leading youth development programme which encompasses coaching, technical and athletic development, holistic education, and a varied games, tours & tournaments schedule.
The role of Head Chef sits within the Facilities Department at the Club's Hale End site. The overall brief of the department is to provide world-leading facilities and an elite training environment to ensure the utmost focus of all players and staff, while at the same time visibly upholding the Youth Academy's values and principles in all interactions with players, staff and visitors alike. All endeavours are centred around preserving a positive environment facilitates the players' development at the Academy.
The Youth Academy is regularly frequented by players' parents and families, teachers, as well as visiting teams and families.
To act as Head Chef at the Arsenal Football Academy's Hale End site, by leading and overseeing all food preparation, kitchen and catering activities.
The position's requirements will revolve around the Youth Academy's training schedule and/or the standard UK school calendar. As such, candidates will need to be flexible and will be required to take annual leave during school holidays.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Food hygiene and safety certificate
Health and safety
A nutrition or sports nutrition qualification (highly desirable) or basic knowledge of sports nutrition (essential)
A degree in Culinary science or related certificate
Proven experience as a Head Chef in a similar or relatable environment
Experience managing casual staff and staff rotas
Experience with basic budget management and implementing cost efficiencies
Outstanding communication skills and a 'can-do', customer focused attitude
Keeps up-to-date with culinary trends and optimised kitchen processe
Able to manage demands during times
